Stormwater Strategic Plan PURPOSE AND SCOPE This Stormwater Strategic Plan is the first phase of a study authorized by the City of Gillette in an agreement dated January 20, 2009 (Project No. 08EN75). The mainstudy area consists of the area within the Citylimits; however, the ultimate planning boundary extends 11/2 miles outside the current Citylimits. The Phase 1 – Strategic Plan scopeof work is to form the framework of the overall stormwater master planning project. Phase 1 work elements include: • Identifying federal, state, and local stormwater policies and regulations that affect the City. • Reviewing the City’s GIS database and recommending additional elements to be incorporated. • Developing a Stormwater Ordinance outline and framework. • Evaluating the City’s organizational structure and recommending changes to manage the stormwater program more effectively, including the feasibility of a Stormwater Utility, and other institutional/organizational elements. This report documents the results of the research and evaluations, and provides recommendations for development of the City’s Stormwater Management program.
CCCD is a member of the Stormwater Advisory Committee. Storm Drain Marking Program We are proud to announce approximately 1300 markers have been placed on the storm drains that flow into Gillette Fishing Lake! Crystal Kellebrew, CCCD and Mattie Hepp, Earth Team volunteer were responsible for placing 900. Jake Staples and Boy Scout Troop 51 placed 400. Thank you to the City of Gillette for purchasing the storm drain stickers and to the volunteers who made this possible.
