Barnyards & Backyards Property Makeover Project has Begun!
Watch as the team that brings you Barnyards & Backyards tackles real-world problems on various pieces of property around the state. The team has begun an “Extreme Property Makeover” on some sub-irrigated pasture land near Wheatland. Learn more about the project at the Barnyards & Backyards website page http://www.uwyo.edu/barnbackyard/. You can also follow their progress on Youtube and Facebook (these links are also on the B&B web page) as the team develops short educational videos and text on a variety of topics related to the property. Videos already available include: Introduction to the property (in 2 parts), Installing a tire livestock watering tank and Basics of grazing management.
ATTENTION: CAMPBELL COUNTY EDUCATORS!
The CCCD would like to make available a watershed educational activity, to you and your class. Our Enviroscape model is a plastic model of a complete watershed. We are able to show erosion, point source pollution, non-point source pollution, prevention measures and best management practices for all. Additionally, the model allows students to become familiar with watershed components and terminology. The activity can be tailored to your individual class needs. It can be 15 minutes to 50 minutes. Please call us at 682-1824 with any questions or to schedule us to come to your school soon.
